The first ASEAN Senior Officials’ Meeting of the year took place in Langkawi, Malaysia, with the participation of all ASEAN Member States, the ASEAN Secretariat and Timor-Leste as Observer. The meeting discussed preparations for the AMM Retreat scheduled on 19 January 2025 and other matters, including Malaysia’s Chairmanship priorities and deliverables, ASEAN Community-building initiatives, and external relations, aligning with the theme for this year, “Inclusivity and Sustainability”. The Senior Officials also made recommendations on important ASEAN-related issues, for the Ministers’ consideration.
